Model trains

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Thanks be to Ebay !

My long standing hobby is collecting model trains
I've got stuff going back 30 years and it still runs

Thanks be to Hornby
Praise be to Lima

I have a thing for foreign trains as they always have been presented as more aesthetically pleasing to look at
Now things have changed dramatically with Richard Branson's development of the 2000 Pendolino.... 3hrs 55m from Glasgow to London

Praise be to Virgin !

Anyway, there has always been one train that has eluded me
Anyone seen Mission Impossible ?
The sequence at the end on the TGV with that big butch heterosexual Tom Cruise is one of the best I've ever seen, and I made it my mission to get one of these trains

Well, I havent got it yet......
But I have got one of the TGV variants, the Thalys
It's gorgeous
If it were human, then you would want carnal knowledge of it
I'm not sure of I can use the work f**k in this yet but this train is beauty incarnate !
Anyway, the one thats nearly in my grasp too is the one from Mission Impossible, the TGV Atlantique, the silver and blue one
It costs a bloody fortune to get it in the UK, maybe someone can tell me why this is
The firm that make all these variants, including the all white Spanish version (the AVE) is Mehano

All high praise to Mehano

Anyway, in less than 30 hours, I hope to have the TGV Atlantique so cross everything and wish me luck

PS
Fluffy says 'Miaow' but I'll mention her later

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

I've just been trying to put my computer right thanks to a firm of geniuses in the east end of Glasgow

Thank you Oracle Computers for losing 2/3 of my stored data and for being utter arses
Please contact them on www.oraclecomputers.co.uk and slag them off

On the plus side, my written pieces are safe and I would have thrown one of my famous wobblies of all my writing pieces had gone

Hmmmmmm............ more to follow methinks

AB

A rare blood group which causes heartache for my colleagues and friends in the blood bank if there's not enough of it

SA

An area of California characterised by vast geological upheaval, as very prominently featured in the year 1906 and also in the early 21st century

TB

A particularly noxious pulmonary disease, which causes the lungs extreme difficulty in processing oxygen. Treatable if caught early enough and subject to total eradication

SB

Well............

4am

I woke in response to a text message coming in from abroad
Damn the time differences

I'm chatting with a friend of mine from Peru (-6hours at present)
Brasil is 4 hours behind
Serbia and Poland are both 1 hour ahead
Imaginationland is a few hundred years ahear

Oh well, I must be due that winning Euromillions ticket
Not long to go methinks

First on my must-buy list is a propelled blimp..... surely the most relaxing way to travel
OK, shades of Zorin in the Bond film A view to a kill
Pity it involves heights

DVD film list has just passed 400
DVD TV list passed 100
Looking at model trains too

Thank you EBay......
Great source of material for me, and the start of many therapeutic discussions at work

Oh well, back to try and sleep again

Depression test

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

Just done the Depression test
Anyone that knows me, or has come to know me, will know what I think of these things
And just to prove how right I am, I put on the scores I got

DIY diagnoses are crap, and not the thing to be done with online tickboxes

About me.........

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well, biog time I suppose

Born (yes)
Species (debatable)

Well, born 6 months after the 66 World Cup so I've had a lifetime hearing about that bloody game
As you have gathered, I hate football but not all sports but more on this another time

Born in Glasgow at Christmas time, my theory was that the gyneacologist wanted a quiet festive season

Schooled in the east end of Glasgow, emerged in 1984 to go to local FE college then Paisley Tech as it was then

Trained as a nurse in 1986 and I'm still there as a staff nurse today

My ID comes from the fact that I'm Bi, and a fan of the greatest program in the galaxy, Blakes 7
Although Doctor Who does come a very close second

More to come as soy un poco cansado...... (yeah, and more on this too)

1st Entry

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I finally did it...... I joined LJ

I dont have a clue what I'm doing here, so hopefully I'll be kept right but I know I'll be kept right by all my friends in Glasgow and Edinburgh

My computer hub blew so I've been working without a machine for a few days
Damn, its frustrating

Anyway, off to do stuff.......

July 18th, 2006

The last few days......

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
...... they've been the best of my life

I stood up in Manchester two years ago and aided and abetted by my colleagues at my immediate left, I drew in a deep breath and squeaked.....

"We can't do it in 2005 but we'll bring it to GLasgow in 2006"

That's the last time that we sit in a student union and continually talk about BiCon

So whar is BiCon ?

Its the latest in the gatherings that the bisexual community to have a weekend of fun and games. The Space Invaders you played as a child will never be looked at again in the same light again. PLas for Asteroids and Lemmings (all mine)

We agreed to run it not having done it before but we had lots of ideas for many more plans

The team consisted of David, Alison, Calum, John, Veronica, Sarah Beth and myself

We started on Thursday and we finally left the venue at 3pm after six of us blitzed the flats. The team lunch in Pizza Hut was nice, but the ice cream factory

I will say this..... I have worked in the most chaotic places in the knowm universe but the level of calm and alert staff on site, contributed in a major way

Believe me there is more to come in following entries........
